Case Plant Tornado - Mt Pleasant, Wisconsin

Oct 26, 2010
At 7:45 a.m. a confirmed tornado struck the Case manufacturing plant causing structural damage along with minor injuries. The tornado moved through the cities of Sturtevant and Mount Pleasant located in Racine county, Wisconsin.

A tornado watch was issued for all of southeastern Wisconsin during the early morning hours. A powerful 955 mb low pressure system over Minnesota helped draw warm, moist air from the gulf of mexico along with providing very strong low level wind shear and upper level dynamics. These ingredients helped spawn the thunderstorm in Kenosha county which then intensified as it moved into southern Racine county.
